When maths slips,
reality breaks

Enter the world of Mathatar - A time-slip adventure through ancient history, impossible portals, the hidden mathematical structure of the universe, and a danger that threatens reality itself.

Numbers vanishing.
Patterns breaking.
Reality glitching

Mathatar begins when fourteen-year-old Maya thought it was all just a bad Sunday morning - until she discovers that someone, or something is trying to erase mathematics from history, causing impossible things to happen; clocks losing digits, patterns breaking, receipts changing and reality seems on the edge.

Yet Grandfather knows more than he’s letting on and when his fox-red Labrador, Fella, chases a rabbit through a portal that shouldn’t exist, Maya follows - and finds herself in Ancient Ur, where nothing is as it seems.

To fix reality, Maya and her time-travelling companions need to stop the mysterious Null and save, the world, the universe and history.

Time becomes unreliable. Timetables shift. Computers stop working.

Maps lose coordinates

Scale fails. Distances stretch and contract. Travelling becomes unpredictable and dangerous.

receipts lose decimals

Prices alter. Decimal places move or go missing. Economic chaos follows.

geometry loses shape

Patterns break. Measures make no sense. Buildings start becoming unstable.

Mathatar is an adventure first - designed to spark imagination and keep readers turning pages. It’s the first in a multi-book series covering maths and the history of maths.

Along the way, it changes attitudes to the subject, builds maths confidence, logical thinking, historical curiosity and problem-solving skills that last far beyond the story.
